Description:-
-
Dental contoured matrices are made of metal and they are used to support and give form to the restoration during its placement and hardening. They are made of Stainless Steel and in 35 – 50 micron thickness.
-
Gingival floor of a class II cavity is the most vulnerable area where over-hang of the restorative material can take place. There is no method to control the placement and contour of the restoration without a matrix wall. Thus matrix bands are recommended for a class II filling.
